Loneliness in emigration — why it happens and what helps

    A particular loneliness

Emigration is not only a new country but the loss of a familiar environment, language, roles, and people who knew you 'before.' The loneliness here is particular: you can be among people and still feel foreign.

It's a normal response to a big transition, not your fault.

    Why it's so hard

The small daily contacts that used to hold you disappear. A lot of energy goes into adapting, leaving little for closeness.

On top of that comes the feeling of being at home nowhere — neither there nor here.

    What helps

Support in your own language matters — from someone who understands the context without long explanations.

A space to speak about it honestly often restores footing before the new life on the outside settles.

I live abroad — does this work online?

Yes. The work is fully online, in Ukrainian or Russian, from any country.

    Is this psychotherapy?

No. This is a private coaching practice with a psychoanalytic background.
